Sea Salt is an 8-bit action game developed by YCJY Games. In this game, you play as Dagon the Old God, an eldritch force of the sea. Your job is to summon minions and monsters from the sea, and protect your worshippers in exchange for sacrifices. With the Archbishop on your side, you can demand human sacrifices and bounties of fish and gold in return. You must avenge your glory from the enemies who have defied you. Sea Salt allows you to be a powerful deity that rules over the ocean. On your side are your Apostles, who bring your commands to the "landlubbers." You are in charge of enlisting the Apostles. The best way to decide which of them will work for you is to see which minions they control and what their special abilities are. Of the minions, three stand out for delivering the most impact to your enemies.
The Cultist is a ranged minion that has high damage output but low health. The Fisherman is a grotesque and shocking melee minion, who will come in handy when you need to scare off enemies. The Spitter is also a frightening minion, but he is limited to fast attacks with low damage. These are the minions that deliver the most impact on your enemies, creating efficient and productive gameplay for each round.
As a god, your most common enemy will be Humans. They have mixed emotions about Dagon and his minions. So, they follow the teachings of the Archbishop instead. While most of the humans are easy to scare off, human hunters will be a challenge. Overall, Sea Salt is a straightforward and simple game that uses minimal controls, specifically WASD keys. It’s a good game to play if you are looking for an 8-bit game to try out but want a mature plot.
